Who are you?! - Dabit

Who are you?!

Welcome to the first edition of Who are you?! where we tell you a bit about some of our favorite artists.
This week we will introduce you to a solo artist called Dabit.

Dabit /다빗/David Kim is a singer/songwriter. Originally from Ohio he studied at Berklee College of Music and posted covers on youtube before coming to Korea. After auditioning for a few companies he became a trainee under Choeun Entertainment. Originally set to debut with 24K he realized that he's not the Idol type and moved to his current company KoffeeDream Entertainment.

He debuted on Dec. 5 2013 (that's also his birthday, please remember it) with the song "Whoo Whoo Whoo" from the album "When the wind blows" that he wrote himself.

In 2014 he released the single "Zone Out" which is kinda depressing but absolutely wonderful, especially live.

And just over a week ago his latest single "Up & Down" was released. It features Hayana, former member of EvoL and I'm repeating myself but it's also wonderful.

As I have mentioned on twitter, both Leonie and I went to see Dabit live last weekend and let me just tell you, if you have the chance you MUST GO SEE HIM! His Vocals are amazing, his songs are great and he's so cool on stage and off. He was the only 'K-Pop' singer between Japanese Rock and Visual Kei artists and you might think he wouldn't appeal to their fans but I've actually read from a lot of them how refreshing they thought Dabit is and how they would go see him again if/when he comes back to Germany.

We also thought he was really, really great so we bought 2 more copies of Up&Down, even though we had already bought all 3 of his CD's and got them signed. I am so glad to have gone there because finally I have a male soloist who I can fangirl over lol
Side note: The manager is a total sweetheart, I really liked talking to her. The other manager (I think?) was really handsome and he seemed really happy whenever someone came to buy Merch
